ROLLING PRAIRIE BIKE TRAIL BRIDGE RE-OPENS
Re-construction of The Rolling Prairie Trail bridge over the Shell Rock River between Clarksville and Allison was completed on October 18th. Steve Martin with Butler County Conservation says the bridge is now open and ready for use by biking and hiking enthusiasts. The bridge was destroyed in October 2008 by an arson fire. The anticipated cost to replace the wooden structure was around 300 thousand dollars. The Conservation Board was awarded a $210,000 Iowa DOT grant for the project, but that funding was not available until this year. Cramer and Associates began work September 26th replacing the deck and side rails on the over 300 ft. long bridge. The entire Rolling Prairie Trail is now open, after the nearly 3 year closure.
TRICK-OR TREAT CHANGED

Please note that the time is being changed as well since this is not a week night. Hot dogs will be served at the fire station starting at 5:00 P.M.
